Jared Carter has proudly called Bucktown home since 2010, where he and his wife have raised their family. He is a retired Captain with the New Orleans Fire Department, bringing extensive experience in emergency response, public safety, and disaster preparedness. Jared also serves as a Deputy Constable for the 5th Justice Court in Jefferson Parish, providing him with valuable insight into local government and community issues. Professionally, he is the Chief Operating Officer of Desire Line, where he oversees operations and collaborates with public and private partners to deliver planning, recovery, and resilience initiatives across the Gulf South. Jared is passionate about preserving Bucktown's unique character and working alongside neighbors to support the community's long-term success

Elizabeth Spansel believes that strong neighborhoods are built by neighbors who know one another, lend a hand and take pride in the place they call home. She and her family have enjoyed living in Bucktown since 2012, where they're often found biking along the levee, supporting local businesses, and taking advantage of everything the neighborhood has to offer. As a Registered Dietitian, Elizabeth has dedicated her career to educating, advocating and supporting others with chronic disease to lead healthier lives. She brings the same collaborative spirit to the Bucktown Civic Association. 

Lauren Pilie is originally from Georgia but has lived in Bucktown since 2013.   She and her husband, Philip Pilie, have 3 girls (ages 12, 10, and 5).  Lauren chose to serve on the board of the BCA not only to serve the community, but to make it a more connected and close-knit neighborhood to raise her girls.  Lauren is a personal injury lawyer and owns her own law firm:  Louisiana Law Lady, LLC.  She is excited about the future of Bucktown and is looking forward to meeting many more of her neighbors in the years to come.

Erik Spansel was born and raised in the Jefferson Parish and has proudly called Bucktown home for the past 12 years.  Professionally, he is a Claims Compliance Manager with nearly two decades of experience in project management, finance, regulatory compliance, and operational leadership across the insurance, consulting, manufacturing, and government contracting sectors. Erik holds an MBA in Finance from Louisiana State University, a Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He is passionate about supporting the quality of life, growth, and long-term success of Bucktown and the greater Jefferson Parish community.

Eric Tabary is a lifelong Metairie resident, husband, father, and licensed NASCLA General Contractor registered throughout the Gulf States. As the owner of a local restoration and mitigation company specializing in disaster recovery, he has helped families and businesses recover from hurricanes, floods, fires, and other property damage. That experience has reinforced his belief in the importance of strong, connected communities. Eric is passionate about giving back to Bucktown by promoting transparency, encouraging community involvement, and working to preserve and enhance the neighborhood for current and future generations.

Russell Russo is originally from Kenner and moved to Bucktown in 2021.  With young children, his goal in revitalizing the Bucktown Civic Association is to connect all of our families and friends so we can enjoy the natural beauty of our neighborhood.  Russell is an orthopedic surgeon and chief of surgery at LCMC, and also is a founding member of NOLA bank.  As a developer as well, Russell would like to see new light commercial development that rivals 30A and Bay St. Louis while preserving the family friendly community of the residential community.  Having areas like coffee shops, cafes, boutiques, farmers markets to stroll by or bike to is the ultimate goal in revitalizing our area.  

Alexandra Carter is a lifelong Jefferson Parish resident who grew up in River Ridge and has proudly called Bucktown home since 2010. She and her husband, Jared, are raising their two children (ages 14 and 12) in the neighborhood and are committed to keeping Bucktown a safe, connected, and welcoming community. Alexandra is also the founder and CEO of a New Orleans-based planning firm, Desire Line LLC, and works with communities across the Gulf South to improve communities and plan for the future. She looks forward to listening to residents, encouraging greater neighborhood involvement, and working with fellow board members to help preserve the unique character and strong sense of community that make Bucktown such a special place to call home.
